What is XiOne

We have created XiOne, the first fully mobile Software Defined Radio highly flexible and easy to use within a mobile environment consisting of smartphones, tablets or laptops.

In contrast to a normal radio XiOne is able to receive signals within a frequency range of 100 kHz up to 1.7 GHz.

An SDR is highly flexible because the radio signals are demodulated and decoded by software algorithms.

At launch date we plan to provide several applications for smartphones, tablets as well as Windows, Mac OS and Linux platforms, covering the main use cases mentioned below.

An open application interface enables the maker community to built their own applications and their own business models to enhance the areas of operations for the Software Defined Radio.

We plan to provide a Software Development Kit including useful SDR algorithms for all major mobile platforms.

Three different interfaces (WiFi, Ethernet and USB) allow easy connection to the device. All connectors, even USB, appear as network interfaces supporting a simple Application Interface (API) based on TCP to ease the coupling and to make the software development as simple as possible.
